I would really love to see the results! :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5388604820097820482.post-78454466603171775012012-09-26T20:59:20.207-07:002012-09-26T20:59:20.207-07:00I love the story as well! I realize now that I did not truly appreciate the absolute skill that went into crafting such a wonderful piece of prose when I was in my Beginning Fiction Writing course. Now though, as I think back on it, and reread the story, I'm absolutely amazed by the tender-loving-care that went into the story, and how Oates was able to broach such a disturbing topic so artfully.

I have definitely thought about writing an entire book based off of songs, and your comment makes me want to do it more, however, I am not sure if that is a challenge I want to tackle so soon into my writing career! We shall see, perhaps some music will help me move along in my current novel project!

Thank you for the wonderful comment! :DAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5388604820097820482.post-74661265781116730662012-09-26T18:05:38.917-07:002012-09-26T18:05:38.917-07:00great prompt!great prompt!Danihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01969687156855399063noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5388604820097820482.post-75033621052970645692012-09-26T16:48:22.583-07:002012-09-26T16:48:22.583-07:00I love that story. I put on Dylan as I read the story over and over, and was amazed at how well everything fit into place.

I've thought about writing a story using different songs every chapter, just letting the song I'm listening to dictate the actions of the characters or the mood of the scene. We listened to "Lucille" and used the lyrics directly to create super short stories and even still everyone came up with completely different takes. ddshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11561186803031542520noreply@blogger.com
